Service Description

Intermediate Oil Painting - 12 week course Learn the fundamentals of portrait painting step-by-step with this in-depth course. 12 week course runs January 22nd - April 23rd, 2026 (No classes March 19th or 26th for Spring Break) Thursday Evenings, 5:30-8:00pm $545, monthly payment option available. All supplies included. Maximum 10 participants Learn the basics of painting the portrait in oil: proportion, skin tones, planes of the face, light source, individual facial features, and more. Course syllabus includes exercises and painted studies, alongside three finished paintings of different views. We will be working from painted references and looking at both traditional and contemporary painting styles for research and inspiration. Optional homework is given each week for those who would like extra study and practice between lessons. This course is designed for painters who have oil painting experience. Cancellation Policy
Please note that registered classes are non-refundable and non-exchangeable barring extenuating circumstances that will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Though not guaranteed, students who miss classes due to illness can occasionally be accommodated at another time. We aim for all students to be successful by attending all scheduled classes to the best of their ability, as classes are progressive and projects can take multiple weeks. If a class is cancelled by the studio due to unforeseen circumstances the student will have the option to either request a refund or attend a rescheduled class. Classes are non-transferable once the class series has begun.
