Service Description
Thursday afternoons 4:00-5:15 pm October 1st - December 10, 2026 (10 classes) (No Class Oct 22) $250, monthly payment option available. All materials included, including individual sketchbook. Maximum 10 students. No previous experience necessary; interest mandatory! For focused children with a keen interest in drawing. Learn how to draw what you see and create realistic drawings with creative flair! Weekly lessons that teach real drawing skills, techniques, and language so older children are able to grow creatively as they become more confident drawers. In Drawing Fundamentals I, students explore drawing with a mix of colour media and a large range of materials and subjects. We begin with guided drawing and looking at shapes, then move into techniques and strategies for independent drawing, all while encouraging artistic instincts and self-expression. Students learn about line drawing, adding colour, and adding shading/value to their drawings. Projects are demonstrated by the instructor and each student is mentored individually along the way. Students are provided with high-quality art materials so they have the potential to produce the same quality of work as the instructor. Keep an eye out for Child Drawing Fundamentals II in January! Cancellation Policy
Please note that registered classes are non-refundable and non-exchangeable barring extenuating circumstances that will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Though not guaranteed, students who miss classes due to illness can occasionally be accommodated at another time. We aim for all students to be successful by attending all scheduled classes to the best of their ability, as classes are progressive and projects can take multiple weeks. If a class is cancelled by the studio due to unforeseen circumstances the student will have the option to either request a refund or attend a rescheduled class. Classes are non-transferable once the class series has begun.
