Service Description
Registration Closed Tuesday evenings 6:00pm-8:00pm 9 weeks course runs April 30 - June 25 $310 Supplies included, including individual sketchbook. Maximum 10 students to allow for 1:1 mentorship For absolute beginners and those lacking confidence in their ability. Drawing is a teachable skill that anyone can learn! Learn the fundamentals of drawing and develop accurate perception so you can see the way an artist sees. We’ll explore line quality, light and shadow, proportion and composition, and more by use of traditional approaches and exercises, creating a new completed artwork nearly every week. This course uses reference photographs and gains inspiration from other artist’s renderings to create realistic, expressive drawings of still life, landscapes, animals, and faces in pencil, charcoal, pen, and conte. It focuses on developing foundational skills and knowledge so you can continue to draw independently. This course includes a syllabus and handouts, as well as optional homework projects to practice what we’ve learned at your leisure. The completion of this course allows students to progress to all other intermediate drawing class options including: colour media, figure drawing, plein air landscapes, and more. Cancellation Policy
Please note that registered classes are non-refundable and non-exchangeable barring extenuating circumstances that will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Though not guaranteed, students who miss classes due to illness can occasionally be accommodated at another time. We aim for all students to be successful by attending all scheduled classes to the best of their ability, as classes are progressive and projects can take multiple weeks. If a class is cancelled by the studio due to unforeseen circumstances the student will have the option to either request a refund or attend a rescheduled class. Classes are non-transferable once the class series has begun.
