Service Description
Half-day camp runs Monday-Friday, August 17 - 21, 2026 from 9am-12noon. For Ages 9-12 $250, all materials included. Maximum 10 participants. For creative and focused kids who love art! Learn the fundamentals of painting in 5 creative mornings. Students learn the steps to creating a painting, colour mixing and theory, brushwork, blending and layering colour, light and shadow, and more in a bright, clean, and creative space. Subjects include still life, landscape, and animals. Each morning includes 2 painting sessions with a mid-morning break where we will walk to Millenium Park. The camps also focus on how to honestly look at and evaluate art, the importance of "imperfections" and differences in art, and how everyone's unique voice comes through in their work (great practice for small perfectionists!) We hang our work up on the wall after each project and look at historical and contemporary artist references to encourage artistic confidence. Introverted or "shy" children are never forced to participate in group discussions. All photos are projects that have been completed at the studio. Cancellation Policy
Please note that registered classes are non-refundable and non-exchangeable barring extenuating circumstances that will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Though not guaranteed, students who miss classes due to illness can occasionally be accommodated at another time. We aim for all students to be successful by attending all scheduled classes to the best of their ability, as classes are progressive and projects can take multiple weeks. If a class is cancelled by the studio due to unforeseen circumstances the student will have the option to either request a refund or attend a rescheduled class. Classes are non-transferable once the class series has begun.
